Mata Vaishno Devi yatra inside the Holy Shrine are in the form of three “Pindias”. You cannot find any statues, photos or idols inside the shrine. On the way from Katra to holy cave and on the road to Bhawan, there are numbers of Picture elaborating the path of Darshans to the Holy Cave. Mata Vaishno Devi is Situated 14 km from the town of Katra and 52 km from Jammu. Once entry point to the cave, the way turns into a narrow subway with a cold water flow named the “Charan Ganga” in a row through it. Devotees believe in the tale “Moonh Maangi Muradein Poori Karne Wali Mata”, which means, the Mother who granted anything her devotees wish for.


How to visit Vaishno Devi
The Jammu airport is nearest one for Vaishno Devi Yatra that situated about 48 kilometer from Katra. Jammu railway station is nearest rail link to Katra Vaishno Devi. A number of regular buses are there for katra from Jammu and the distance is around 52 Km. From Katra, it is a 13 km hill height road walk will be cover by different mode of transportations. You can hire a horse or be carried up by sabari from Katra. You can visit up to the cave and return to Katra in one day. Time to climb up is about 4 hours and to get down it will take 3 hours. Pilgrims must receive a Yatra-parchi from the tourist reception counter near the Katra bus stand for a pass to “Ban Ganga”.
